Mother’s Day Picnic Amazon Picks

Published May 6, 2025

We’ve booked up picnics on Mother’s Day weekend fast this year! But we know a lot of you still want to treat the special woman in your life to a relaxing afternoon so we’ve compiled our favorite Amazon products you can purchase to set up your own special picnic on Mother’s Day!

This list is curated for two adults and up to four children, but you an mix and match the items based on your total guest account. Before you start adding to cart, we have a couple suggestions to help guide you.

Our Expert Tips to Make Your Picnic a Success

Serving Ware

There are three different options for picnic baskets. Two of the more expensive baskets provide cutlery, glasses, and plates, so if you purchase one of those you won’t need to buy those additional items. However, if you have melamine plates/cups or paper/plastic serving ware at home, those will just as well to bring.

Pillows

If you’re going to be spending more than 30 minutes at your picnic, we highly recommend bringing pillows - specifically, waterproof outdoor pillows. You can use these to lie down on or sit on and they’ll help make your picnic more comfortable. The gingham option we provided are pillow covers so just remember to purchase the inserts too!

Breakfast Tray

This is a must-have and trust us when we say you’ll love having this and re-use it! This allows your food to be elevated (no ants at this picnic!) and adds some height to your picnic to give it some dimension and interest. The great thing about this is you can re-use it as a breakfast tray to serve breakfast in bed - keep spoiling Mom all year round!

Be mindful of the size of the tray though. The one we listed can fit one dinner plate.

Drinks

If you want to enjoy a beverage at your picnic, we’ve suggested a champagne bucket to keep your drinks cool while you lounge. Thinking you’d rather have wine? Skip the champagne bucket but add non-breakable wine glasses instead. Trust us, you want the non-breakable ones. It’s easier to transport ones that won’t break, both before and after your picnic.

Blanket

Both of our options are waterproof which means you won’t have to worry about wet ground from a rainstorm the night before and morning dew. Both can be washed at home too so they’re easy to clean as well. The “G Good Gain” blanket is cloth on the top so it’ll be softer and transition well into cooler months when you want more padding. The “Samsier” option is a tarp-like material.

We recommend two adults and up to one small child per blanket.

Location Suggestion

After you’ve curated your own picnic for Mom, you’ll want to decide on a location. Surprising Mom with a picnic in the backyard is nice for new Moms or families with young children than need access to bathrooms or other amenities at home.

But if you’re looking to set up a picnic somewhere new, we highly recommend the Raleigh Rose Garden during this time of year. The roses will be in full bloom and will offer a stunning backdrop for your picnic. Just keep in mind that this location doesn’t always have a lot of shade, so bring sunscreen and even a parasol if you’re planning to picnic during peak sun hours.
