3 Month Internship with a potential option to extend to a paid part-time position | Based in Raleigh, North Carolina

Southern Picnics is a Raleigh-based picnic company creating thoughtfully designed moments for proposals, celebrations, and gatherings. We’re looking for a Social Media Intern to help bring our brand to life online through storytelling, visuals, and behind-the-scenes content!

This is a hands-on, creative role ideal for someone who loves aesthetics, hosting, and social media, and wants real experience working with a small lifestyle brand.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create content to connect with our audience.

  • Research and ideate on social media content stories and directions, and develop a social media calendar.

  • Assist with content creation for Instagram and TikTok.

  • Help plan and schedule content aligned with our brand voice.

  • Capture behind-the-scenes moments at picnics.

  • Write captions that are warm, playful, and on-brand.

  • Keep an eye on trends and suggest creative ideas

Qualifications

  • Must be available on some weekends to film picnics

  • Must be based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

  • Friendly, energetic, and passionate about organic social media marketing.

  • Love hosting and beautiful details.

  • Have a good eye for composition and storytelling.

  • Are comfortable with Instagram and short-form video.

  • Write clearly and creatively.

  • Are organized, reliable, and work well independently.

  • Background in communications, digital marketing, styling, or graphic design preferred.

  • Experience with Canva and other editing apps.

Additional Qualifications (Not Essential)

  • Previous experience in social media marketing and content creation.

  • Photography and videography skills

Details

  • Part-time internship, 5-10 hours a week.

  • Unpaid, for academic credit.

  • Mostly remote, with occasional in-person opportunities to film content.
